Privacy Policy

Effective date: February 18, 2026

Plain-language summary

  • We use your photo to generate a plant/tree identification result.
  • We store identification results and feedback so we can improve quality over time.
  • We do not store your raw photos by default on our servers.
  • We use third-party providers (AI, database verification, hosting) to operate the service.

1) Who We Are

TreeBarkId is operated by Fluxer Labs. If you have questions about privacy, contact us at info@fluxerlabs.com.

2) Information We Collect

A) Information you provide

  • Photos you upload for identification. We process these photos to create an identification result and (optionally) verification context.
  • Feedback you submit (for example: “incorrect identification”, details, and corrected species if you provide it).

B) Information collected automatically

  • App and device context: platform (iOS/Android), app version, locale, timezone, and an anonymous installation identifier.
  • Identification metadata: request IDs, latency metrics, model/provider routing used, confidence values, and verification flags.
  • Analytics and security signals: limited event logs (for example, landing page CTA clicks), user-agent, and IP address (used for rate limiting and abuse prevention).

C) Subscription and entitlement information

If you purchase TreeBarkId Pro through the App Store or Google Play, we receive entitlement status updates through our billing provider (RevenueCat). We store an entitlement tier (Free/Pro) to enforce access to Pro features in the app.

3) How We Use Information

  • Provide identification results, confidence guidance, and verification context.
  • Operate the Nature Guide and plant database lookups through our backend proxy.
  • Monitor performance (latency, error rates) and keep the service reliable.
  • Prevent abuse and enforce reasonable usage limits (rate limiting).
  • Improve quality using aggregated statistics and user feedback (for example, reducing common mix-ups).

4) How We Share Information

We share information with service providers only as needed to operate TreeBarkId:

  • AI providers (for example, OpenAI and Google Gemini) to analyze uploaded photos and generate identification results.
  • Botanical database provider (Perenual) for species lookup and verification context.
  • Infrastructure providers (Vercel for hosting; Supabase for database and admin authentication).
  • Billing/entitlement provider (RevenueCat) for subscription status.

We may also disclose information if required to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect users and the service from abuse.

5) Photo Handling

Photos are used to generate identification results. By default, we do not store your raw photos on our servers. We do store the identification result data (for example: species name, confidence, and health notes) and request metadata to operate the app and improve reliability.

Third-party AI providers may process photos to deliver results. Their processing is governed by their own policies; we configure our usage to support product functionality and do not use your photos to train our own models.

6) Data Retention

We retain identification results, feedback reports, and operational logs for as long as needed to provide the service and improve stability and quality. Cache and rate-limit records are retained for operational purposes and roll off over time.

7) Your Choices and Rights

You can request access to or deletion of your data by contacting info@fluxerlabs.com. To help us locate your records, include your in-app installation identifier or user ID if available.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information (for example, GDPR/CCPA rights).

8) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9) Children’s Privacy

TreeBarkId is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date.
